World RefugeeDay Festival- Wellington
At Voice of Aroha, we are deeply proud of our World Refugee Day Festival, an initiative that brought light and connection during the difficult years of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. This festival was more than just an event—it was a heartfelt celebration of resilience, unity, and the incredible strength of our refugee communities. At a time when the world felt divided, we found ways to come together, creating a space where stories were shared, cultures were celebrated, and voices were amplified.
Every year, we celebrate the World Refugee Day Festival through a variety of meaningful activities, including panel discussions, online contests, cultural performances, and community storytelling. These events not only honor the journeys and contributions of refugees but also foster collaboration and understanding among diverse communities. Through this festival, we’ve built bridges between individuals, organizations, and communities, creating pathways for collaboration and solidarity. It’s a time to reflect, to listen, and to stand together in support of refugee rights and recognition. We celebrate the richness of our diverse cultures and continue to advocate for a more inclusive and compassionate world.
As we look back, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who has joined us in making it possible. These moments of connection and celebration continue to inspire our work every day.
